Flow & Technique

WTW Americas uses its years of experience handling the most troublesome materials to correctly select the equipment that will maximize operational efficiency while adhering to the intended plant layout.

Whether the material is:

  • cohesive like filter cake or flue gas desulphurized gypsum (FGD),
  • contains large pieces such as limestone or coal,
  • is fine, powdery and free flowing like fly ash,
  • is moist and odor intensive like sewage,

Our primary task is to provide storage, conveying and reclaim systems selected specifically according to the characteristics of the bulk material concerned in order to ensure trouble free equipment operation.

Shear Cell Testing & Analysis

Our laboratory uses a shear tester that is recognized as an ASTM International standard to complete our bulk material testing. Several days at rest storage tests are done to determine time consolidation in a storage unit.

All assimilated data is recorded and processed using state of the art programming to provide the necessary information for later calculation to determine the correct design of plant components. Installations engineered and manufactured incorporate the benefits gained from over 30 years of experience in the design of silos and materials handling systems which ensure that the client’s production requirements are completely catered for.
